Thanksgiving thoughts from 22 real estate professionals

We asked 22 real estate professionals what they were thankful for in regards to their real estate careers. Here’s what they said:

“I’m thankful to work at such an amazing company with fantastic associates in such a nourishing environment that encourages growth, and that in this difficult time in retail leasing my team and I are all extremely busy. I’m also thankful for my family & friends.” – James Famularo, Eastern Consolidated

“I’m most thankful for all the wonderful clients I’ve met from all over the world. As I’ve worked to find them a new home, they’ve broadened my awareness of other cultures and inspired me travel to experience them first hand.” – Heather Cooksey

“My partner/wife Ann Cummings and I are very thankful for having the privilege of representing literally thousands of buyers and sellers during our long careers. We have had the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most wonderful people you could ever imagine. We’ve served the whole spectrum of clients from first time buyers, to seasoned investors, to the very wealthy buying second (or more) homes. One of the marvelous things we enjoy about being Realtors® is that each transaction and each buyer and seller is different.” – Jim Lee

“For me, the greatest blessing is working in a field where you can make your own schedule, accomplish your goals, and no one else is in charge of that but you! If you put in the time, effort, and money, your success will be guaranteed!” – Cari Patterson, Vance J Elliott Realty

“I am so very thankful for my job in real estate because I love helping people achieve their goals and realize their dreams. By always placing my clients’ best interests first, I honor the trust and confidence they place in me.” – Debbie Taylor, Keller Williams Crystal Coast

“I’m thankful for all my customers, especially the ones that have become great friends!” – Kim Slade, Sarasota Real Estate Group

“I’m most thankful for the opportunity to guide families through the home buying or selling experience and in the process make new lifetime friends.” – Dan Washburn, Washburn Realty Group

“I am very thankful for being in the real estate industry. As a broker, it provides me the freedom, as I choose, to do my business and serve my client sellers, investors, customer purchasers, renter and lessees of residential and commercial properties. It allows me to listen and ask probing questions to ascertain their “needs & wants” and to search out what they are looking for without selling, but by consulting and guiding them through the process from the beginning to the closing and beyond. I try to make an impression from the get go, so they will consider me their “Realtor® for Life.”” – Philip A. Raices, Turn Key Real Estate

“I’m thankful for the people I meet! They come from all walks of life, yet turn out to be the best people in the world! Some even lifetime friends” – Brenda Turner, BHHS Select Properties

“I’m thankful I can make a decent living without having to travel!” – Dave Csira, Csira Properties

“I’m thankful for today. Today is a gift from above, from our Maker and Creator, The Lord Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for the family He has blessed me with and for each and every client.” – Kandi Lowe, The Kandi Lowe Team

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to help and work with so many diversified and nice people.” – Janet Shatzer, Dave Lowe Realty

“What am I most thankful for in my real estate career? It’s the freedom and flexibility to move things around in order to have time to be a dad. To be there for the games, to coach, to be the father that I couldn’t be while being trapped inside of the corporate healthcare environment.” – Scott Hollis

“I am most thankful for my wonderful and loyal clients over 25 years who continue to support my real estate practice through their own repeat business and their generous referrals. I am also thankful for knowing the positive impact I have on my clients’ lives in helping them sell or buy real estate, be it personal or investment homes. There are not many professions where one can affect someone’s life in such a way.” – Nina Hollander, Carolinas Realty Partners

“I’m thankful for my career in real estate because it has offered me the chance to have control of my time, to enjoy wonderful associations with so many people with whom I have worked, and to have a more substantial income than what I would have been able to have if I were working for a company other than my own.” – Lee Easter

“I’m thankful for the ability to help and serve. From advocacy and protecting homeowners’ rights to helping people turn a dream into a home for their family. It’s a true joy to be in a place that affords me these relationships. I am so thankful for each and every one of them and blessed to serve. What an amazing career to have this opportunity!” – John Register

“I have found no business that requires zero capital, freedom of time, ability to grow a company without going into debt and unlimited income potential, other than real estate. Different personalities can find different roles to play in any real estate environment and company. Because of this among other things, I am grateful to have discovered this career.” – Eileen Tefft, Agencyone Vancouver and Portland

“I am thankful for the opportunity to meet and help people with their purchase and or sale of one of their biggest investments.” – John Jacques, Rooster Realty Group LLC

“I’m thankful for the tenacious, hard working, honest agents I have worked beside for over 30 years. Agents are always coming and going but the tenacious, honest, appreciative of our income ones make me proud.” – Bill Carter

“I am most thankful that I had training through the Mike Ferry organization early in my career. He taught me to have a goal with a roadmap to reach my goal. He is a tremendous trainer.” – Betty Oates

“Well, the thing I’m most thankful for at this time of Thanksgiving is that while I will soon hit 65, I was invited and have today joined Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Florida Realty in their Palm Beach Gardens office on PGA Blvd.” – Arnold Deutschl, BHHS Florida Realty

“I think for me the thing I am most grateful for in this business is the ability to work with friends and family (and their referrals) and to be able to give guidance in one of the most important purchase milestones in their lives. The feeling of handing over the keys, whether it is a first time buyer or a move up buyer, and the look on their faces is priceless!” – Michelle Montez
